Cycles are so much more than fertility

As Catholic women who deeply care about the dignity of our bodies, it can feel challenging to ask questions about our menstrual cycles in a way that feels reverent...or even "permissible" sometimes as single women.

After all: aren't cycles designed for fertility???

Sure, but here is the truth:

We are daughters of God, deserving of knowing the dignity of our design, regardless of marital status.

Cycle Charting for Single Women takes the knowledge of cycles gained through fertility awareness and removes the family planning piece, simply helping you read the "language of the body" of God's design for you.

Because yep, God created you as a woman with menstrual cycles - and that doesn't change based on your vocation status.

Intro to Charting

You know you get a period, but why? What's actually going on inside? I start by demystifying what happens during periods and place them in the larger context of our entire menstrual cycle.

Options for Keeping Charts

Step-by-step instructions on observing and recording three types of biomarkers that indicate where we are in our cycles: cervical mucus, basal body temperature, and hormone levels.

How to Interpret a Chart

Now that you have all of this information, how do you know what it's saying? I break down how your cycle charting will show what's normal and what's not, as well as predictability and planning.

Integrating this Knowledge

We explore how learning about our bodies is one step that can help us explore what our female design really means, and the ways God loves and cares for us uniquely as individuals.

This knowledge should be for every woman!

We're done with a standard which assumes:

❌ Women should wait until you're trying to get pregnant to identify health problems.

❌ Women and couples don't need to know anything about cycles until learning about Natural Family Planning.

❌ Our reproductive systems don't matter unless we're married.

As a Church, we are poised to offer a much better, holistic vision of God's plan for our bodies' design - and Cycle Charting for Single Women is my contribution to that mindset shift.

And yes: if you're a religious sister, this book can be for you, too!

Knowing your cycles is actually incredibly valuable in community life. Aside from the health factors, being armed with this knowledge can totally transform your community life by giving you personal insights to serve God in a way that honors your feminine design.

And if you want to bring this knowledge to your community... let's chat!

I would love to talk to you about how to share this book!

Can I use this book to learn about family planning?

Nope! The calculations you learn in this guide are not suitable for family planning, and are only suitable for charting to identify ovulation as a healthy sign.

Can I use this guide if I'm not single?

If you are interested in learning more about the biology of your cycle, different options for biomarkers, and how to integrate this knowledge of your body into your identity as a beloved daughter of God... then this would be a great resource! But you cannot use it for family planning.

Do you offer discounts for religious communities?

If you are a consecrated woman religious and are interested in this book, let's chat! I would love to help you bring this education to your community and am very willing to work with you on cost, delivery systems, etc.

Does this include charts?

Yes! Included in the guide are pages with two different charting options which you can print as needed. The guide also includes recommendations for apps, if you choose to chart electronically instead.

What method does this teach?

This guide does not teach an NFP method. I am trained as a Boston Cross Check instructor, so this guide reflects my training with biomarkers and modified calculations in that particular method, but the protocols for BCC are not given here.

Is this book suitable for women in perimenopause?

This guide does not include a specific section on the cycle changes that happen with perimenopause. But if you are new to understanding your cycle, it will still offer you a lot of valuable insights! If you think you are in perimenopause, I'd recommend pairing this book with some of our other specific resources for that transitional time, like our Quick Guide.
